Crystal2 is the modular, portable, high-performance environment
suitable for cross-platform time-critical application development.
The key features of Crystal2:
- Component Object Model like object model with strict component separation;
- strict ANSI C ABI helping in integration with other programming languages (.NET, Perl);
- implementation in ANSI C++ with C and assembler optimizations,
providing unmatched performance characteristics;
- portability and scalability between desktop and embedded systems (already works on Symbian, PocketPC, Linux
and Windows).
Crystal2 provides the company all necessary tools and libraries
to build general-purpose and specifically multimedia applications
in portable manner, reducing the development effort
and money spent just extending the feature
set of the platform by writing components(plugins).

| MakeSystem |  |
Crystal2 equips MakeSystem, which provides automatic generation of:
- Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2003 solutions (Win32);
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 solutions (Win32 & WinCE);
- Linux Makefiles;
- Symbian .MMPs.
on the basis of configuration .xml file, describing included components.

the functionality required by application. The main

Currently, the implementation of C2 Kernel &
C2 Media is available for:
- Windows 9x, NT, 2000, XP, 2003
- WinCE 3.0/PocketPC
- Symbian 6.1-8.0
- Linux
C2 UI is implemented for Windows 9x/XP
and Linux via GTK+ toolkit.

| Future |  |
Crystal2 is the basis for all upcoming Crystal Reality products,
including CrystalPlayer, Crystal2Mobile Producer, Crystal2Mobile Player
and finally CrystalDVD. All those products will be completely
customizable and provide plugin support for extending/replacing
functionality.
